Monte Baldo is a mountain range with maximum elevation of 2218 meters, located in the provinces of Trento and Verona. Its ridge spans mainly in the municipality of San Zeno di Montagna, Ala, Avio, Caprino Veronese, Ferrara di Monte Baldo, Brentonico, Nago Torbole, Malcesine e Brenzone.
The name Monte Baldo (Mons Polinius in the roman period) derives from the German Wald ("forest"); it appears for the first time in a German map in 1163.
In the territory of Ferrara di Monte Baldo, the hillside hosts, dig into the rocks, the Sanctuary of Madonna della Corona, destination of several pilgrims every year. The Monte Baldo has deveolped a tourism based on summer excursions, on horseback riding and on the protection of its natural environment.
